...at least in my opinion:

That being said, I quite like the new 1300 GS' look.

This one looks like someone accidentally mounted hardcases in the wrong place.

At least the decided copying Strom's styling was a no go.

I never really cared that much about how the bike looks because most of the time I'm on it, but that's what bothers me about this one....it looks like you could serve Christmas dinner for the whole family on the tank, and that is something I will be staring at. I wonder how a tank bag would fit on it. I also prefer feeling like I'm sitting more on top of the bike rather than in it, and that tank is a huge step up from the seat.

Is that tiny bar between the seat and gas cap a place to tether an airbag vest?

Good point. Actually how are long-legged ppl going to sit on this thing? Knees spread way beyond anything which can be called "comfortable" or "ergonomic" I guess, but I might be wrong.

I can't think of any other purpose than an airbag vest connection point - cool thing.

I hope for your sake she’s not in here or you’re in trouble. 😂

Those areas on top of the tank (two black loops forward and the small bar behind) may be for mounting of a BMW-design tankbag. The below mounting rail for the BMW-spec tankbag is on my RT, and is the slickest tankbag mount I've ever used (many of them on many different bikes over the years). Of course, the BMW bag was very pricy, and I only have/use it because the dealer threw it in to help close the deal when I traded my last GS.

I agree too that the new GS Adventure looks monsterous (and fugly) compared to my old 2007 GSA, which wouldn't have won any beauty contests.

They (GS) could be worse. My mates 1150 gs is a beaut. Maybe could do with some side number panels at the rear to make her look finished. Must admit though if I had a gs, it would have to look like an old 80s Dakar job or the bmw R75 from “earlier days”. Stunning, both.
