Tire Mounted in Reverse Direction

I just finished mounting a Pirelli Scorpion Rally 90/90-21 on a spare front wheel, and while admiring my scratch free, leak free (tubeless) handiwork, I realized I had mounted the tire in the reverse  direction of rotation.

Should I dismount and re-mount?  What are the consequences of riding it as is?  This wheel set is primarily for off-road use but will definitely see high speed highway use for getting to trails.

Kicking my self....total buzz kill!

Personally, I'd definitely re-mount it!

We say "I could bite my own ass" over here when things like these happen 😅

They are one of the easiest front tyres to fit. You could almost do it with your fingers.

Change it.

The direction must have a reason ( better braking, less knob shear???)

"Knob shear" could be the start of a new saying for biting or kicking ones own ass 😆

I done a similar thing but on the rear, just left it. Can’t see a difference in the tread pattern to be honest, not sure about the front.

I was once told with rally car tyres that had direction indicated on a semi slick it was to do with how the rubber was ‘rolled’ on during manufacture. Not sure how true this was or if it even applies to other tyres.

If it’s in your head then change it.
