Rear caliper came loose. How could this have h

Kiwi

Question

I took my bike in for its 10,000km service. I have ridden 500km since then. Today while backing out of the bike shed I noticed no rear brake function, I got off the bike to look and discovered this.Caliper has rotated 180 degrees.

Brakeline stretched

ABS wire severed

Bango fitting weaping

How on earth could it have come loose? Would the workshop have pulled the rear wheel for the service?

Kiwi: Could you provide the name of the dealer? Kind of interesting to know for us fellow Norwegian's. 🙂

Have you seen the African roadside clutch rebuild from Itchy Boots?  Complicated task in rudimentary conditions with minimal tools. Looking pro doesn’t always = pro.

I'd have split the cases to make sure all the metal chunks were out of there.  Squirting gas and shaking would not leave me comfortable at all.

That was super (and much more than just a clutch rebuild).  Wow, those guys were heaven sent to her.

I wish she had explained what the chunks were that they pulled out of the engine and how she got all the spare parts so quickly.

I'm going to have to rewatch that again. Most so-called "reality" shows are a bunch of hogwash, but her shows are awesome!!!

I ended up going in there yesterday after nobody returned my calls. I pressed them a bit and in the end they collected the bike today.

They have no record of removing the rear wheel and tenere's arrive with the rear wheel attached according to the dealer?any how I hope they fix it properly.

Warranty work for the incorrect install at the factory.

I have managed to fit the rear wheel with the swingarm guide not located in the caliper mount groove.  Not above or below, but almost next to.  The result, if I hadn't corrected it, would have been the same.  Go buy a lotto ticket...
