Took a long ride to the neighbours (germany) to get their delicious "kuchen" (cakes) and cheap petrol. Also stopped at this oilpumper and tapped 3 liters oil for my next service...😁

Oops... I moved the foot pegs down and back with new mounting brackets this morning and just couldn't resist a quick spin thru the woods behind the house to see how they would feel while standing up.

I really should have taken the time to adjust my shift lever, and maybe don some gear... Anyways, I missed a shift, bobbled the bike  and wearing nothing but a t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes leapt off the bike with all the grace the average 62 year old can muster and let it eat dirt without me. 🙂

After action report- Pulled the bike loose from the brush, spun it around a bit on its side and got it back on it's wheels. No real damage, the Mivv high pipe got pushed in a bit. Pulled it back out and down and all good now.

I've got them (from Kedo) and love them! For us long-legged bigfoots it improves comfort both when sitting and standing.

Later, I saw my first ever rattlesnake in the wild; about five feet long and crossing the road in front of me. By the time I got stopped and got the phone out for pictures, only the rear half was still visible but I got a pic of the rattle and then another as it headed toward the woods.

Lucky man. I'm sure your state has other venomous snakes to deal with,  but of the hundreds I've seen growing up in the west, the Mojave Green is the one I give the widest berth. My son and I were out on the T7's on a dirt road about 5 miles from our house and came across one in the middle of the road. It blended in so well, I almost ran over it and warned my son on the Sena it might not be dead. He stopped about 30' away from it and got on the radio stating " it ain't dead and I'm not hanging around to take a picture !".   Moral to the story,  don't assume that stick in the road is a stick!

Got out on Friday for a much needed ride.

Picked up some supplies from a self-serve honor system farm stand.

Stumbled onto a new potential fishing spot

A couple of roads about 150 miles south of me showed signs of recent rain.  Lucky people. We haven't seen measurable rain in awhile. 😞

This section was what I call a "drunk Indian" path.

About half way thru the day I started to get terrible chills, a mean headache, and body aches that were off the charts.  I cut the ride short and made as direct a route possible back home. Got to admit, that part of the ride was about as miserable as I can recall having been. Found out the next day the Covid got me.  On the mend though, already feeling better.

365 miles for the day. It was supposed to be a bit over 500 and I don't regret cutting the ride short even a little.  Home never looked better to me.

Thanks. Feeling better. Seems like the worst was over almost as fast as it hit. I'm putting riding a motorcycle with Covid going full blast on my highly not recommended list.

Coincidentally, just after posting my pics I thought "I'll bet folks out west see snakes like this all the time". Sounds like yours are actually more dangerous!  😲
