Today it was warm (~72 °F/22 °C) & dry weather. But unpaved roads are still a mess of mud & puddles. Sometimes it wasn't a ride but a mudslide.

I went out for a bit of a look-see in my valley. There was this road to the left that I was curious about  and after 5 miles or so, it got interesting.

I was convinced that it would "connect" me, if I could just keep going - I bet no-one here ever though that way!

I got off at at tricky spot, had a look-see around the corner, and decided to turn back.  But alas, no room. In the end I laid the beast down   dragged her head to face down-hill, and retraced the route.

A lot of satisfaction and learning on that little trip out to Lockwood Valley. 20240522_145003.jpg.3e8584dac3d39fb6e9f804f3aee69ce3.jpg20240522_143842.jpg.8789b5acef601c95ceed56e3b8148e42.jpgi9020240522_145003.jpg.3e8584dac3d39fb6e9f804f3aee69ce3.jpg

Wow! That's the temperature my lady dreams about. Since she had cancer a few years ago she's freezing all the time, even when it's above 70 °F.

If you need practice picking up your bike, you do know Ballinger Canyon is just up the road, right? 😀

Yesterday I went for a ride with two of my friends, one is as skills as me he now has my old wr450 and I let a other buddy of mine use my XT250 and he his a superior driver then me, this was very off road a few beaver dam / creek crossing about two feet deep of water in a abandon / unmaintained road the T7 wasn’t the fastest in that environment with the loose sand that trail had … after we cross in a lumber road with some heavy gauge gravel freshly gravel road there I lost them but still was very challenging. To finish was a swampy quad trail.. The Tenere pull it through I didn’t drop it or got stuck but it was lots of work to cross that section … the XT 250 was perfect for this ride  … I think that’s the worst off-road I will do with the T7 but it was lots of fun.

Sounds like the kinda of ride I gave up doing on My T7 soon after acquiring it. Too much effort and not enough reward for over 70 years old. I stick to sight seeing on forest roads now. Haven’t dropped my T7 in 2 years. But still carry the eastbound motowinch just in case.

Had a great day off with the T7's little sister:

We trailered our bikes (the small electric ones of my boys and my Beta Evo 300) to an amazing trials area in NL - and were almost completely on our own there.

Getting confident now with this little beast and pulled my first (small) wheelies ever.

Chicxulub, Yucatan, around 15 km from the center of the Chicxulub Crater. The most remarkable thing here was the smell of the marshes around the area, but in this photo you can see a Tenere in the bushes stalking a raptor.

I don't know about Ténérés but I thought the dinos all died after the meteor impact some years ago.😉
