Yes it does. I just don’t post that stuff. It’s all in Idaho, Utah and Washington. I just don’t share the locations of all those places that are much much better probably…possibly, I am sure they are fantastically better though.

When crossing the Kiel Kanal in Germany all the ferrys have the shown sign. The Kiel Kanal is behind the Panama Canal on the 2nd place world wide, based on ship numbers and weight in tons, AFAIK. It connects the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.

The crossing and docking of the ferry can

cause shock and impact effects on your vehicle.

Secure your vehicle against rolling forward and,

if necessary, against tipping over. This will protect

yourself and other ferry users from harm.

The instructions of the ferry staff

must be followed.

I had no chance to get off the bike to take a picture. The above sign was at the staff shelter beside where I was sitting on (and securing 😉) my bike.

Finally got the bike out for a short spin to try out the new Mitas tyres.

Front feels good, lots of grip.

Which Mitas comb did you go for? I’m still deciding between e09 or the new XT+.

Yeah, fitted the new XT+ front and rear. Went with a 140 rear on a 2.5” rim.

Route I took was very dry, not the norm, so can’t tell yet how good they are in the slop but front felt very planted on the loose gravel sections.

The staff is watching everybody like a hawk during the crossing of about 150 m. When I once tried to do as you adviced the command was "Back on your bike!".

Crazy folks - when crossing the Rhine (similar width over here) it's a totally different situation, the guys are very relaxed.

Oh, it’s a stay with bike thing, short crossing then.

That's one of the ferrys I use frequently. The canal is made for bigger ships. The mass of water they push forward produces bigger waves and the ferry captain has to take good care of that. That's why the ferry staff cares for bikes. Landing on the other side is often a bumpy thing😉
