Anyone have. SC tall comfort seat? The ‘gap’ annoys me - is this as it’s supposed to be ?

I did it for a while - ended up too tall for me. Here is a photo - what "gap" are you speaking of? if the gap between the rider and the pillion- the have a tall pillion also.

Installed a pair of Camel ADV's excellent side panels to replace the cracked and scratched OEM panels, and also fitted an SKDA graphic kit on the Acerbis 23-liter tank for a new look. SKDA was the only supplier I found with an offering for the Acerbis tank, and as this was my first experience with aftermarket graphics, I found it extremely easy to install.  The graphics also covered up all of the marring of the Acerbis tank surface caused by tank bag usage.

I also installed a new OEM clutch kit (~ $124 from Motosport) to finally eliminate the clutch grabbiness/squawk with a cold engine. I'm just tired of dealing with that after 20k miles, and as others have reported after installing the new clutch discs soaked in fresh oil overnight prior to installation the difference is noticeable. I should have done this sooner.

Huzar with their shorter (30 cm?) muffler. No louder than the OEM muffler since I run it with both dB killers installed.

Replaced the OEM battery:

Thats 2.7 kg less weight!!!

According to @OFF THE ROAD, the smaller capacity is more than sufficient. Mine is a '21 MY, the newer ones (TFT dashboard models) have a smaller battery by default (similar to the capacity of this tiny BS LiFePO battery).

It also saves a lot of space:

20240710_170350.jpg.ab8f6dc93da2dd90d3b8be71cf31deba.jpg

Installed (had to bend the negative terminal by 90°, was a bit anxious about breaking it, but since it's rather soft brass, it went well):

20240710_190558.jpg.a11dd5ebb5a22a551bc1f07a7453696c.jpg

Note the free space next to the battery. Plenty of room for a spare tube or a small compressor.

An update on this one:

The battery hasn't sufficient capacity to keep headlights running and charging a tablet at 2 Amp for something like 20-30 minutes when you forget to turn off the key and instead just kill the engine via kickstand or kill switch.

No need to ask me how I know it, cos I'll just plainly tell you:

When recovering a buddy's bike and then recovering ourselves from the bike recovery and preparing for a scary downhill section, I've noticed after probably half an hour that the engine wouldn't start. Both Temp readings said "Hi" (but no oil temp warning light), and the display showed "Err". Don't waste your time looking this up in the user's manual, it means the battery is dead.

By "dead" I mean the chinese USB charging port indicated a voltage of a whopping 5.7 V, although this was with ignition on. The battery built-in state of charge indicator showed only 2 bars (=bad).

Needless to say neither we nor the ATV guy passing us by chance had a jumpstart cable.

But being in the mountains has some advantages: Put in 2nd gear, let her gain momentum downhill, turned on the key and disengaged the clutch - voila! Up and running and the battery shows full charge meanwhile. Obviously, the BMS did its job!

Summary: Don't be an idiot like me. Or get one of those batteries with a built-in jumpstart feature (actually a hidden second battery).

New tires, Avon Trailrider. Never tried these before but my next trip from Sweden down to Porugal will be mostly ridden on black top so a less agressive set up will do. Also changed the ABS rings to compensate for speedo error. Now w/in 1 kmph.

I ordered a Cool cover for the stock seat and will see if I can stand the loss of foam and height as I think my Rally seat may be too high now with the seat-heater and its Cool cover. Even though my butt likes it, too many stationary tip-overs lately.

I measured the heights and it's 2" taller than the stocker's. If this works, then I'll swap over the heater, maybe add some foam, then see if I can swap the pans since the Rally can hold more crap. Or maybe just buy an electric turkey knife and go to work. I stand riding offroad so any seat will work for that.

Got a line on a Kriega OS Base + 2 18L OS bags for $250. Picking them up Saturday. The base is meant for a KTM 870, but looking at photos online, I can't see why it wouldn't work on the T7 with my luggage rack.

Can't believe I happened upon that listing because thats a steal! Even if I can't make the base work, Still a bargain for 2 like new bags.

If the mods I've done to the stock seat feel good, I may have a Rally seat for sale.

I spent yesterday dremeling away the rider's seat front storage well wall and to the rear seat I leveled the base by a 1/4".  I also did some wire rerouting to the battery for more room.  Now everything that was stored on the Rally seat fits under the front and rear seats.

Today I rounded down the top-to-side transitions, added 1/4 foam, and swapped over the seat heater pad to the stock front seat pad.  With the Cool cover, this will give me over 1/2" more height.

@Moopsie If that base does not work and you want a T7 one, I have one that I will part with.  PM if interested.

I did this front seat release mod with a different catch than he did.  I made a catch-plate that's riveted to the back wall he removes.  It's not pretty but works. Someday I may remake the lock bracket for perfection.  Ist run-around riding makes me think the modded stock seats will be the way to go.

Sorry for being lame and asking this, but why? Nothing is needed to hold the front seat in place. The rear seat locks the front down. What am I missing ?

This mod allows the rear seat to stay in place as it no longer locks the front seat in place.  This way you can just remove the front seat alone.  Say you have bags or a rack covering the rear seat like I do.  My air compressor is under the front seat.  Now I don't have to remove the bag, the rear seat, and the front seat to get to it. Just the front seat.

Oh I get it. Very smart. Good job on that. I got pulled over by a local constable on a trip and told him it would be 10 minutes to get my registration out. He waited 🙂

I finally got the MCCruise Control fitted up on my bike; instructions are very clear and take you through it step by step.

End result was to the user full electronic cruise control like in other bikes. It's basically a servo motor that holds the cables for you.

I always wanted a screw on plate for the side stand. Parking on soft ground areas is always a struggle to find a place where the bike stands solid and the side stand doesn't sink in.

As I had some PE material w/o a certain destination I went to work. Cut some round piece out of the PE and took a heat gun to heat up the end of the side stand while parked on the plastic. It took some minutes of heating before the side stand sank into the melting material. I moulded the squeezed out plastic around the end of the side stand and, vóila, here is the result. I certainly will round the edges for the looks. 🤩

Relatively lightweight and no screws. When the plastic is worn out I can cut it away. But as the material is 15 mm thick it will take some time.
